People supporting local good causes could win an iPhone 17 Pro, or up to £25,000, by buying tickets for Swale Borough Council’s community lottery.

The Swale Community Lottery gives people the chance to support their favourite local charities and non-profit organisations financially, while having the chance to win cash prizes each week.

For this month’s Super Draw everyone who buys a ticket before Saturday 25 October will be in with the chance of winning the flagship iPhone 17 Pro.

This just-released, top-of-the-range phone has an aluminium unibody that maximises performance, battery and durability, with Apple Intelligence, a state-of-the-art GPU for gaming, and the most advanced iPhone camera system ever.

The three 48MP cameras giving eight times optical zoom create professional photos and the highest quality video in a smartphone.

If you don’t fancy a new phone, you could take the £1,000 cash alternative and spend it your way or you could nominate to plant 1,000 trees instead.

The 49 charities, voluntary organisations and other not-for-profit groups of all shapes and sizes who have signed up to the lottery receive 50% of the proceeds from tickets they sell.

A further 10% from every ticket sale goes into a central fund which will be shared among other good causes through grants. The remainder goes towards prize funds and operating costs.

Thanks to the amazing support from residents, the charities that signed up to benefit from the lottery receive a monthly cash boost throughout the year.

The regular draws take place every week, and as well as the £25,000 jackpot, people could win prizes of £2,000, £250, £25 or more tickets.

Super draws take place on the last Saturday of each month, and you can buy extra tickets to “top-up” for super draw week – or if you don’t want weekly tickets, you can buy tickets just for the super draw.

Tickets for the lottery are available on the Swale Community Lottery website and cost just £1.

Cllr Hannah Perkin, chair of the Housing, Health and Communities Committee, said:

“The community lottery has done amazingly well in its first year, but we want to keep the momentum up!

“It gives you the opportunity to support your favourite good causes in Swale while standing a chance to win up to £25,000 and other amazing prizes like this iPhone 17 Pro.

“If you are to, please have a look over the options and pick a charity to support - the funds generated will help the organisations deliver their much-needed and valued services across Swale.”
