Swale Borough Council have given Trinity Gardens in Sheerness a much-needed face lift.

The council have made improvements to the gardens surrounding Trinity Church near Masters House.

The council used funding to:

  • buy new bins and five benches
  • make improvements to paths
  • install new railings
  • buy and plant new greenery such as shrubs, and flowers
  • paint and repair existing infrastructure
  • provide future maintenance

The council also recently installed additional lighting and a CCTV camera to make the park a safer place for people to enjoy, as part of their safer streets campaign.

Which formed part of the councils ongoing efforts to improve Swale’s town centres, making them a safer place for everyone and to reduce violence against women and girls.

This also builds on the work of the council’s £20 million regeneration project, Sheerness Revival, and their full refurbishment of nearby Masters House.

The next phase of the development is the transformation of the existing garages into state-of-the-art makers workshops where young entrepreneurs can craft items while getting advice and support from Launch It, a charity based in the building.

The project aims to improve education, employment, health and leisure provision in Sheerness, with an extension to East Kent College Groups’ Sheppey College recently breaking ground.

The healthy Living Centre in Beachfields is also getting a full renovation, including modernising the GP facilities, adding leisure provision and creating a customised space for local charity Sheppey Matters.
