People in Swale can shape the priorities of their local council and help provide a clear view of what is most important to them for the future.
Swale Borough Council is carrying out research to understand what issues matter most to their residents ahead of the formation of new unitary authorities.
The council’s survey asks locals what they think about living in their area, what services work well, and others that may need improving.
This follows the government’s recent decision to change how local services are delivered in Kent.
In April 2028, Swale Borough Council will be replaced by a new unitary council covering Swale, Ashford, Folkestone, and Hythe.
Before this change, the council will continue to deliver local services.
The council’s survey will help shape its current priorities while providing the new unitary council with a clear view of what is important to local people.
To take part, please respond to this online survey by 30 September 2026.

“Now that we have a clearer understanding of how services will be delivered in Kent, we want to make sure that we have our residents’ priorities at the top of our, and the future council’s, agenda.
“These survey results will help us make the improvements to how we deliver our services that you want to see, while also creating a clear picture for the new, bigger, unitary council of what our residents truly care about.
“We know that there will be a lot of changes to how your services are delivered, but we are committed to continuing to provide the services our residents rely on each day while striving to get better.
“And we want to take this opportunity to carry that commitment forward into the new unitary council, in a way that sees even more improvements to the lives of those who call Swale a home.
