Don’t miss out on crucial support and advice with the cost of living crisis at events across Swale.

Swale Borough Council are hosting three more One Swale Roadshows this year; starting in Sheerness on 26 September, then in Faversham on 22 October and rounding out the year in Sittingbourne on 21 November.

The council have hosted 22 roadshows in the past year bringing more than 50 organisations, that offer important services to people in need, together under one roof.

The events have helped more than 2,000 people across the borough with things like fuel and food vouchers, discounted bills, winter warm packs, the household support fund, free health checks, free food and much more.

The roadshows also offer sound advice on home safety, energy, how to avoid scams, benefits, health, debt and much more.

They have adopted themes such as health and wellbeing, fuel and emergency support and debt and benefits providing tailored support while still offering broader help and advice.

Some of the organisations who will be able to assist people at the roadshow in Sheerness on 26 September at the Gateway from 09:00am to 11:30am include Crossroads Care Kent, Kent County Council, Sateda’s Kent & Medway Community Sharewear and more.

Cllr Richard Palmer, chair of the community and leisure committee, said:

“The charities and organisations we work with are doing incredible work and our roadshows make it easier for the people who need their help to find them.

“These events are safe, inviting and free of judgement so if you need support please come and speak to the wonderful people who are ready and waiting to help you.

“Whilst I am incredibly proud of the good these events have accomplished, making real positive impacts on people’s lives, it has equally been heartbreaking to see the amount of people who desperately need support in our community.

“We will be continuing the roadshows until the beginning of next year, so please keep an eye out for additional dates, and share the dates with anyone you think may be struggling.”

The monthly Roadshows will run from 09:30am to 11:30am on:

  1. Thursday 26 September 2024 at Sheppey Gateway, Sheerness, ME12 1NL
  2. Tuesday 22 October 2024, Faversham Salvation Army, Faversham, ME13 7AW
  3. Thursday 21 November 2024, Heather House Community Hub, Sittingbourne, ME10 4NN

The council worked with Swale CVS and Faversham Community Networking Group, to organise these events.
