Swale Borough Council’s events that have helped thousands of people with cost of living and wellbeing support have been relaunched, funded by the Crisis and Resilience Fund.
The council’s One Swale Roadshows take place across the borough monthly and bring charities and other organisations under one roof, where they are ready and waiting to offer help and support to the people of Swale.
Following the success of these events over the past three years the council will be organising a new roadshow tailored to their location each month for the remainder of 2026, thanks to funding from UK Government’s new Crisis and Resilience Fund (CRF).
The CRF, which replaces the Household Support Fund, provides an essential safety net for people who need immediate financial help, while providing holistic support for residents to build long-term financial resilience.
The roadshows will be taking place across the borough between 9:30 to 11:30 on:
- 23 July (Heather House, Sittingbourne)
- 14 August (Swale Family Hubs, Leysdown)
- 27 August (Seashells Sheerness Children & Families Centre, Rose St, Sheerness ME12 1AW)
- 26 November (Sheppey Gateway, Sheerness)
The organisations on hand to offer support at the first event at Heather House, Ave of Remembrance, Sittingbourne, ME10 4NN, include:
- Swale CVS
- SATEDA Sharewear
- Fuel and Water Advisor
- Citizens Advice North East Kent
- CXK
- Southern Water
- ADSS
- Cocaine Anonymous
Support will be available on a wide range of issues from financial hardship - providing things like vouchers, warm packs and bill discounts - employment and training opportunities to health and wellbeing.
This includes practical support such as food and fuel vouchers, water bill reductions and health check-ups, and offered advice on issues such as home safety, energy use, health and debt.
The full schedule of roadshows will be confirmed soon, and the council will be tailoring each one to the issues residents face in each area.

These events have been made possible thanks to the hard work of the Swale CVS who helped the council organise the roadshows, and funding from the UK Government.
Cllr Hannah Perkin, chair of the council’s housing, health and communities committee, said:
“The roadshows have proven to be a valuable resource for our residents, offering a safe space where practical support and advice on a wide range of issues can be found.
“From emergency help like food and fuel vouchers to advice on debt, health and energy use there is so much tailored support available at our events.
“We have ambitious plans for the new Crisis and Resilience Funding in the works, but getting these roadshows back is a great way to provide the support the people of Swale desperately need.
