Community focused events that support local people struggling to cope with the cost of living will continue this year.

Swale Borough Council will be running four of its One Swale Roadshows across the borough between January and March 2026.

The events have brought charities and other organisations together to offer tailored help and support to thousands of people in need within Swale.

People can get help with their bills, receive food and fuel vouchers, get free health checks, and learn about opportunities for work.

The organisations also give advice and support around health and wellbeing, drug abuse, social care, and dealing with debt.

The upcoming One Swale Roadshows will be taking place on:

  • Thursday 29 January - Sheerness (Sheppey Gateway, 38, 42 High St, Sheerness, ME12 1NL)
  • Thursday 12 February - Sittingbourne (Heather House Ave, of Remembrance, Sittingbourne ME10 4NN)
  • Tuesday 10 March - Faversham (Salvation Army, 4 Court St, Faversham ME13 7AW)
  • Tuesday 24 March- Leysdown (Eastern Sheppey Community Hub, Nutts Ave, Leysdown-on-Sea, Sheerness ME12 4QQ)

The council has teamed up with the Swale CVS and Faversham Community Networking Group to organise these roadshows.

The events are funded by the government’s Household Support Fund.

The first event of the year will be on Thursday 29 January at Sheppey Gateway - 38-42 High St, Sheerness ME12 1NL, from 9:30am to 11:30am.

Cllr Hannah Perkin, chair of the Housing, Health and Communities Committee, said:

“We have been running these events for over three years now and have been able to help thousands of our residents get access to important services across Swale.

“Swale has so many incredible charities and organisations, and our roadshows bring them together under one roof where residents can get the tailored support they need.

“Please come along to your local event if you need help with anything, there are amazing, friendly people ready and waiting to lend you their ear, and either support you directly or get you in contact with the help you need."
