Explore the history of Faversham Recreation Ground and learn to skate, craft and paint at free family friendly events next week.

Swale Borough Council are taking part in this year’s Open Faversham with events including bug searches, clay sculpting, painting, crafting, kite making and more!

Open Faversham gives residents the opportunity to celebrate Faversham’s cultural and natural heritage through events such as community talks, walks, performances, exhibitions and open buildings taking place across the town’s landmarks.

The themes of this year’s events, which run from Saturday 17 to Sunday 25 August, include maritime and railway heritage, important historical dates such as the 1,000th anniversary of the market and 80th anniversary of D-day, and arts such as sculpture.

The council’s free family activities kick off with a bug search and clay creature sculpting and will end the nine days of fun with kite making and flying workshops.
